Back in 2003 a web company in Harrogate felt there was a gap in the market for a decent local directory that not only promoted local businesses but also provided residents and visitors in the district valuable information about the local area.
HarrogateOnline.com was designed and launched in April of 2003 by Chris Smith-Dunn and Eugene Keane. Initially this just a side line project for them but as time went on they realised what a powerful tool the site was becoming. Not only for generating a revenue but as a tool for getting businesses noticed on the internet to a local audience.
A few years and a few redesigns later the license model of the system had been developed and tested with the aid of a license pilot based in Devon , Peter Ingall.
Peter now runs a master county license controlling a number of sites in Devon and looking to expand.
The philosophy of Local National is local web sites run by local people.
We aim to help the local community and local businesses come together, not only by having on online presence but by developing the brand in a town and becoming a recognised name in the area.
